Introduction
Hammacher's story began over 175 years ago in the Bowery district of New York. Their hardware store became famous for stocking hard-to-find tools of the highest quality, along with exceptional customer service. Today they continue to amaze (and sometimes amuse) those seeking “the Best, the Only, and the Unexpected” with our singularly curated collection that includes classics such as our Turkish cotton robes and protective pet covers to exotic curiosities such as a golf cart hovercraft, a jewel-encrusted silver coin replica of the Queen Mother’s crown, and a life-size tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.

What I did
We revitalized Hammacher Schlemmer’s eCommerce experience, blending its 170-year heritage with a modern, intuitive interface. The redesign enhanced product discovery through clear navigation, intuitive filtering, and elevated visual storytelling. Clean layouts, timeless typography, and high-impact imagery put the brand’s unique and imaginative products at the forefront, while trust cues from the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute reinforced credibility. The result is a seamless, engaging shopping journey that honors the brand’s legacy while embracing a forward-thinking digital experience.
